Instagram is updating and adapting better to the large screens of book-style foldable smartphones. A change available only on the recently released Galaxy Z Fold 5 and which will make you want to use the Meta application.
This August 11 will officially release the Galaxy Z Fold 5 from Samsung, its latest foldable smartphone in book format. However, its internal screen is still square, which means that some applications do not adapt well to this format. Instagram has taken this problem head on and solves it in its latest version.
Instagram adapts to the screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 5
This is a change spotted by the specialized media SamMobile : Instagram has modified its application for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The application has seen its interface optimized for large screens.
Almost in the center of the screen is the posts feed, with the buttons slightly protruding from the photos on the sides. But the main change lies in the menus: all are moved to the left of the screen, in the form of a vertical bar. This includes searching, posting content, Reels, accessing their account, notifications and private messages. On the display side of the Reels, we inevitably have black bands on the sides and with the comments, shares and likes on the right side.
An Instagram application finally optimized for tablets?
This attention is quite surprising: Meta has always recognized that developing its application for large screens, especially tablets, is not in its priorities. This is very noticeable with the iPad: Instagram is not available on Apple tablets (or via a web browser).
If for the moment, the availability of this interface is limited to the large model of Samsung, we can think that it will soon appear on tablets and other smartphones in book format. Everything suggests that this modified version is initially available on the other Galaxy Z Fold.
