Good news ! YouTube nicknames are available, and you can already reserve yours!

Be careful though, the update is progressive, and you may not be affected yet. Explanations.

How to reserve your nickname on YouTube?

A few days ago, YouTube announced the arrival of “nicknames” on its platform, allowing each creator to benefit from a unique identifier such as “youtube.com/@identifier”. For a few hours, the feature has been being deployed and therefore allows everyone (or almost) to secure their precious nickname now.

Indeed, the update is currently rolling out, and when a creator has access to the selection process depends on a number of factors, including overall YouTube presence, number of subscribers, and whether whether his channel is active or not.

To find out if your YouTube channel is already eligible, it’s very (very) simple. Simply go to the following address while logged into the relevant Google account. If the option is already available, you can choose your unique identifier in a few clicks.

Otherwise, you will be greeted by the message above, and you will have to wait a little longer. YouTube is also notifying affected creators of this update via email.

Note that if your channel already has a custom URL, its unique part will become your default channel ID.

Were you able to reserve your precious YouTube ID?
