"Zack Snyder's Justice League" premieres on HBO Max on March 18. Now the streaming service has released a trailer.

The streaming service HBO Mac released a trailer for "Zack Snyder's Justice League" on Sunday (February 14th). For the cut version by director Zack Snyder (54), which should last four hours and for which Snyder shot additional footage, a Batman opponent returns: Jared Leto (49) will again be seen as the Joker. The trailer shows his changed look with significantly longer hair. Ben Afflecks (48) Bruce Wayne has to bring together a group of heroes in the form of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) in order to overcome the threat posed by Steppenwolf, Fight DeSaad and Darkseid.

In November 2020, Snyder said on the YouTube channel "Beyond The Trailer" about the changed look of Leto's role: "Of course I wanted to appreciate what had been created before because I thought it was really cool." However, some time has now passed since the last appearance of the Batman opponent. "Now he's a somewhat suicidal Joker, I would say," said the 54-year-old. "Vanity Fair" had already published the first black and white pictures of the new Joker.

Fans longed for Snyder's film version

The idea to bring the Joker back after his last appearance in "Suicide Squad" came to Snyder while working on "Justice League" in 2016. When he finally told Leto about it, Leto "slowly warmed up" with the idea of facing Batman again in the new version of "Justice League".

Snyder had to leave the production of "Justice League" early due to a family tragedy. Joss Whedon (56) took the helm. After the premiere of the film in November 2017, some fans were disappointed with the result and longed for a film version from the original director. Under the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, a real campaign developed on social media. At the beginning of May 2020, the streaming service HBO Max took care of the matter.
