A 1-year-old child was hospitalized in emergency, in intensive care at the Rennes University Hospital, after having swallowed a pellet of cannabis resin belonging to his parents. The young couple were summoned to court.
It’s a negligence drama that could have cost the life of a young child. The facts took place on the night of December 18 to 19, 2021, at the home of a young couple in their twenties, located in the town of Guingamp (Côtes-d’Armor). During the evening, their just one year old baby swallowed a cannabis resin pellet hanging around there. The narcotic product belonged to young parents. At the time, nothing suggests the dramatic consequences for the child.
But some time later, the parents notice theamorphous state of their baby. Worried, they immediately alert the emergency services. The situation is more than worrying. The child was initially transported to Saint-Brieuc hospital, but faced with his state of health, the doctors decided to transfer him to the Rennes University Hospital in pediatric resuscitation where he was treated and from which he is came out safe and sound at the start of the week.

Investigation targets parents
Following the report, an investigation was carried out by the gendarmerie. The investigators found, in the family apartment, that the parents were regular drug users, report The Telegram.
