“9-1-1 Lone Star”, the series derived from “9-1-1” centered on Texas firefighters, returns tonight on M6 for a not-to-be-missed season 2 which welcomes several new faces, including Gina Torres , and multiplies the exceptional episodes.
Just over a year after Season 1 aired, 9-1-1 Lone Star, the 9-1-1 spin-off centered around firefighters at a firehouse in Austin, Texas, returns tonight at 9:10 p.m. on M6 for a second season even better than the first, between new characters that you will soon adopt, disasters in spades, and breathtaking twists.

If Rob Lowe (Owen), Ronen Rubinstein (TK), Jim Parrack (Judd), Sierra McClain (Grace), Brian Michael Smith (Paul) or Natacha Karam (Marjan) are indeed back in this second burst of episodes, fans of 9-1-1 Lone Star will not fail to notice the absence of Liv Tyler, the interpreter of the ambulance attendant Michelle Blake, who left the series at the end of season 1 for personal reasons.
To fill the void left by the departure of Liv Tyler, the production therefore called on Gina Torres (Suits, Angel), who joins the series in the role of Tommy Vega, new captain of the paramedics, and thus finds the creator and showrunner Tim Minear almost twenty years after Firefly.
Introduced from the first episode of season 2, Tommy had left the uniform behind eight years ago to take care of her daughters. But the crisis linked to Covid-19 pushes her to return to service as an ambulance attendant when her husband’s restaurant finds itself in financial difficulty. And despite the time that has passed, Tommy will quickly prove to her colleagues that she has lost none of her know-how and that she is still the best in her field.

Gina Torres does not arrive alone in 9-1-1 Lone Star since she is accompanied by Derek Webster (Damages), who lends her features to Tommy’s husband, Charles, but also young actresses Kelsey and Skyler Yates , who play the couple’s twins, Izzy and Evie Vega.
And on the side of the Strand family, this beginning of season 2 tells us that Owen now lives with his ex-wife Gwen, who had landed in Austin to be at the bedside of their sons TK following his hospitalization at the end of season 1, and got stuck with her former mate due to the Covid outbreak and lockdown.
It is the actress Lisa Edelstein, alias Cuddy in Dr House, who embodies this new recurring character who will be present for several episodes. Because a flashback is not impossible between Gwen and Owen. For better and for worse ?

9-1-1, the parent series of the franchise, whose season 4 was recently offered on M6, is already known for its completely crazy interventions (and accidents).
