If we adore her in Sex Education, she seems to be flying off on her own. Emma Mackey will be at the heart of a biopic on the author Emilie Brontë.

Emma Mackey is known for playing the iconic Maeve in the hit Netflix series, Sex Education. The most British of French actresses won the hearts of fans by embodying this introverted teenage girl deeply passionate about feminist literature. This is why learning that she will embody the essential Emily Brontë delights us. Indeed, the young actress was chosen to play the famous writer in a biopic which will soberly be called Emily. Australian actress Frances O'connor will be behind the camera to sign her very first feature film. In addition, it is his pen that will be in command of the script for this already highly anticipated film.

Casting side, we can find beautiful people alongside Emma Mackey. Joe Alwyn, already seen in Boy erased, will be the lover of the main character. There will also be the movie star Dunkirk, Fionn Whitehead. The latter will play the brother of Emilie Brontë, who was a real source of inspiration for the author. Emily Beecham will also be there and will have a key role since she will play the sister of Emilie Brontë, also a writer, Charlotte Brontë.

The production of this new film is scheduled for January 2021. The shooting will take place in the region of Yorkshire, in England. It is a beautiful project which is announced since it will highlight the experience of one of the greatest novelist of feminist literature of the XIXth century.
