May 9 (Reuters) – The Tokyo Stock Exchange ended lower on Monday, bearing the brunt of a decline on Wall Street where inflation and a potential tightening of monetary policy from the U.S. Federal Reserve sent shares tumbling on Friday.

The Nikkei lost 2.53% to 26,319.34 points and the broader Topix fell 1.95% to 1,878.57 points.

(These data may still vary slightly).
