Three years after launching the Titan GT76 at Computex 2019MSI is about to reconnect with its (huge) gaming laptop. In a press release, the firm confirms that it will present in detail a new version of the device during an “MSIology” event, scheduled for June 6.

This confirmation comes after the leak of visuals revealing the new Titan GT77, as well as part of its technical sheet. Information that allows us to have a first glimpse of what we should find there. As a reminder, its predecessor was only updated in 2020 to accommodate 10th generation Intel processors (Comet Lake). No ambitious redesign had been undertaken since for this very high-end model, the price of which could once again stretch between 3,500 and 5,000 dollars depending on the configuration chosen.

The best there is… on a “portable” PC

On the configuration side, this new model should be able to carry a processor amounting to 75 W of TDP and a graphics card reaching for its part the 175 W of TGP for a combined total of 250 W only for these two components.

Rather stingy with details, MSI only mentions the presence of an Intel Core “HX” Alder Lake processor (12th generation) for the moment. The latter will offer up to 16 cores, recalls VideoCardz, which also reports that the Titan GT77 would be no more than 23mm thick. Although thinner than the GT76, we should still be on a thicker machine than most other 17.3-inch laptops.

360Hz display and mechanical keyboard

As for the display, there are three options: Ultra HD, QHD and Full HD. Presumably, the Full HD screen will be able to go up to 360 Hz, but these three options are likely to be limited to IPS LCD technology. We are waiting for the final press release from MSI to learn more.

The MSI Titan GT77 would otherwise be equipped with a Cherry MX mechanical keyboard with a 1.8 mm stroke and a ” crisp clicking sound says one of the leaked visuals on Weibo.
