For five years, fans have speculated about another “Gilmore Girls” sequel. Lauren Graham is apparently groping in the dark herself.
Is there another season coming or isn’t it? The fans of the “Gilmore Girls” series have been dealing with this question for a good five years. After “A New Year” (2016), the Netflix reunion of the popular characters from Stars Hollow, it became quiet around Lorelai, Rory and Co. Leading actress Lauren Graham (54) will be in another series from Friday (March 26) You can see Disney + in “Mighty Ducks: Game Changer” once again as a passionate mother. The actress spoke to the news agency spot on news about whether she could do it again soon as Lorelai Gilmore.
Regular inquiries are “a nice compliment”
There have “always” been rumors about possible new projects related to the series, said Graham, who made her breakthrough on television with “Gilmore Girls” in 2000. “Is there a movie? Is there a reprint? The one year in my life when I could finally say, ‘Yes, the rumor is true’ was such fun, but I don’t have any new information.”
So there is nothing new to report about a possible second season of Gilmore Girls: A New Year. The regular inquiries regarding the family series, which flickered on the screens in its original form until 2007, do not bother the 54-year-old at all – on the contrary. She even loves “that people ask about it because it means they still want more,” said the Hawaiian-born American. It is simply “a nice compliment”.
Lauren Graham: Rory Gilmore’s baby’s father might be “the Wookiee”
Another question that went unanswered at the end of the 2016 Gilmore Girls revival was about the father of Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) baby. Lauren Graham could not – and did not want to – give an answer to that in the interview. “I can’t say anything about that, otherwise they’ll throw tomatoes at me in the street!” She joked. In addition, she is not sure whether series boss Amy Sherman-Palladino (55, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) has ever revealed whether it is Logan, Jess or someone completely different. “It could be the Wookiee, I don’t know.”
Lauren Graham doesn’t ask too often about the father of her serial grandson at the moment, as her new serial project “Mighty Ducks: Game Changer” starts on March 26th on the Disney + streaming service. In the sequel to three cult films from the 90s, actress Alex Morrow plays, the mother of twelve-year-old Evan (Brady Noon), who is thrown out of the eponymous ice hockey team. Outraged, she sets out to found her own team of outsiders and take on the Mighty Ducks. She receives support from coach Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez), who made the Ducks what they are today.

Series star Graham came out in conversation as a fan of the first film “Mighty Ducks – Das Superteam” from 1992 and of its leading actor Emilio Estevez (58, “The Breakfast Club”), who is now slipping into his well-known role again. According to her, the producers of the new six-part miniseries wanted to find their way back to the “roots of the classic Disney family films”, “show children of different origins and convey that classic Disney feeling”.
The subscribers of the in-house streaming service of the mouse company can now judge whether they have succeeded. With “Mighty Ducks: Game Changer”, TV star Graham can be seen again after “Gilmore Girls: A New Year” in a production that was no longer traditionally made for television. The reason for this is the focus of Disney +, Netflix and Co. on “fewer episodes of higher quality”. “Sometimes when you’re doing a 22-episode TV series for a major network, you get the feeling that you’re showing the same thing over and over,” she said. “It’s easier to tell a story in ten.”
