A bit like in Fortnite, the creators of League of Legends sometimes indulge in certain references that have the merit of making us smile. With Patch 11.2, a whole new skin line including Amumu, Ezreal, Kindred, Lissandra and Lux will soon appear in the Rift – a line under the theme of blue and white porcelain so typical of old European ceramics that we sometimes find in the wardrobes of our grandmothers.
That said, although some might point the finger at the old-fashioned character of these appearances (which still seem to have been carried out brilliantly), a kind of mini easter egg stashed in Ezreal’s skin immediately comes to rejuvenate them. This is of course a meme that many know and inspired by another popular meme: the “Leek Spin“by Inoue (a meme from the manga universe” Bleach “) created almost 15 years ago.

A porcelain pot instead of a tamtam, a spectral tiger instead of a cat – the homage to this video that hit the web is absolutely transparent. And, if we go back, we actually find an interpretation of Ieva’s Polka (Eve’s waltz) dating from the 90s, knowing that the original Finnish work of Eino Kettunen dates from the 1920s.
In other words, and though it seems completely crazy, League of Legends pays homage to a work that has stood the test of time via a meme whose origin dates back almost 100 years …
