“A Shame of Cinema”: rated 1.1 out of 5, this is Nicolas Cage’s worst film and you probably missed it!

Currently showing at Renfield, Nicolas Cage has offered us many breathtaking films… but also some beautiful family nanars! What is the worst film with the actor according to the spectators?

After a long crossing of the desert strewn with forgettable projects for Nicolas Cage, the actor has been picking up the hair of the beast for some time. With the recent Pig, A Talent in Solid Gold and Renfield, in theaters on May 31, the actor seems to have taken his career back in hand.

But before this artistic resurrection at the dawn of his 60th birthday, Nicolas Cage offered us sublime nanars, from Ghost Rider 1 and 2 to Bangkok Dangerous via Effraction, Usurpation or Possession. The artist explained that he had been forced to make these feature films to pay off his colossal debts.

“I was too invested in the real estate business. It collapsed, and I couldn’t get out of it in time. I ended up repaying all my debts, which amounted to in total to almost 6 million dollars. I never went bankrupt. These films in which I shot were perhaps not sure values, but they allowed me to have a job. Even if the film was rotten, the team knew that I was still doing my best, that I was going to the end of things”explained Nicolas Cage at the microphone of QG.

Among this succession of turnips, one film particularly stands out: Le Chaos. Directed in 2014 by Vic Armstrong, the feature film tells the story of a small group of people trying to survive after the disappearance of millions of people around the world.

Rated 1.1 out of 5 by AlloCiné viewers (average out of 598 ratings), Le Chaos is the worst film starring Nicolas Cage.

“For anyone who thought Nicolas Cage had already hit rock bottom, this film reminds us how much, when you think you’ve fallen to the ground, there’s still more to sink below sea level”asserts Thomas F.

For Phillipe A., Chaos is a “Completely useless DTV, with a totally bogus scenario served by a Cage at the end of his career. But where did the 16 million budget go with such rotten special effects worthy of a film on NRJ 12? 0/20 and again it is well paid! Nicolas, it’s time to stop the cinema”protests this spectator.

If Alain C has the “Eyes Still Bleeding”Franky4fingers does not mince words. “This film is a disgrace of cinema, I still can’t believe it! Worse than a TV movie! Long and boring, script written on a metro ticket. Actors however correct. 1h55 of boredom. What is Nicolas Cage went to do in this movie?”he asks himself.

Fans might have thought the actor never did worse than Ghost Rider 1 and 2, often considered his worst misdeeds. However, these two feature films show respective scores of 1.9 and 1.5 out of 5.

If Chaos got the worst rating, some films are hot on its heels. These include Prisoners of the Ghostland (1.3), Jiu Jitsu (1.3) or Possession (1.2). Here’s something to give you ideas for good nanar evenings in the company of good old Nicolas Cage! Note that his best film according to viewers is Lord of War, with a score of 4.2 stars out of 5 (average on 57,407 ratings).
