Manufacturer Invoxia promises dog owners a kind of all-round carefree package when using a smart collar. Like other GPS collars, the wearable presented at CES monitors the dog’s whereabouts and displays it via an app on the smartphone.
What is new is the combination of the GPS chipset with sensors that are supposed to provide information about the dog’s state of health. Heart rate and respiratory rate are continuously monitored like a smartwatch, and anomalies are transmitted to masters or mistresses. Veterinarians can access the data and make diagnoses. Artificial intelligence is used to filter out relevant information from the flood of data.

The manufacturer relies on a combination of Bluetooth, WLAN, GPS and LTE-M so that the dogs can be reliably located. A mobile phone alarm can be set up if the animal strays too far from the owner.

The collar also provides information about the movement sequences. According to the manufacturer, the collar can tell whether the dog is playing, running or just scratching.
Developed for medium and large dogs, the collar offers a battery life of one week, is washable and will be on the market in autumn 2022. The price is just under 100 US dollars (88 euros).
