French associations for the defense of the right to abortion have deplored a “dangerous signal” and a threat to women’s rights, calling for the right to abortion to be included in the French Constitution.

However, the fundamental rights of women are called into question. For us, it’s really a step backwards which is already effective in Poland and Hungary”, declared to AFP, Daniele Gaudry, militant of Family Planning and of the “collective abortion in Europe the women decide”. For Suzy Rojtman, member of the same collective: “We were in a rather rising period because abortion was authorized in Colombia, in Argentina, in Ireland. We fear a sudden stop”. The collective calls for mobilization next Saturday.

“It would be enough for France to have a parliament with a conservative majority, and abortion could be banned”, has on his side, told AFP the president of the Women’s Foundation Anne-Cécile Mailfert.
