Cases of “food poisoning” reported

A decision which was taken by the prefect of Calvados in the context of the appearance of several cases of “collective food poisoning» whose symptoms are strongly similar to those of acute gastroenteritis after consuming oysters from zone 14-160 of Grandcamp-Maisy Est as well as zone 14-161 Grandcamp-Maisy Ouest and Géfosse Fontenay. In order not to take any risks during this period of high consumption, the local authorities therefore preferred to ban “provisionally fishing, harvesting and marketing activities intended for human consumption of shellfish from the aforementioned areas.»
