Agnes & Karlheinz Essl – the collector couple donated 169 works of art to Salzburg

The works of art will be included in the collections of the Museum der Moderne and the Salzburg Museum, the state announced. Two watercolors and 27 prints by Herbert Breiter, who died in Salzburg in 1999 and which were mainly created in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, are in the Salzburg Museum’s inventory, which now has 95 sheets by the artist. The Salzburg Museum also received 15 watercolours, nine ink drawings and a number of prints by Rudolf Hradil and 44 works by the Pinzgau artist Gottfried Salzmann. In addition, the Essl couple donated some works by Ilse Haider, Hans Kruckenhauser, Helmut Grill and Rene Wallentin to the state.
