Airbnb is looking for a person to live for free in a Sicilian house


If you’ve been looking for your dream home, Airbnb’s new listing should please you. The famous rental company is looking for someone willing to live for free for a year in a Sicilian house.

The person recruited will become a “host” of the platform, and will have to welcome travelers from all over the world into the house. In exchange, she is allowed to live there without paying rent and to keep the income generated by her activity as a host.

Airbnb specifies that the house in question is completely renovated and “offers an elegant setting perfectly suited to teleworking”. The person can therefore continue to work from Sicily. It is also possible for her to take with her another adult and two children.

Italian and cooking lessons supported

Renovated by a designer, the house has six rooms. It is located in Sambuca, a Sicilian village of around 6,000 inhabitants, 80km south of Palermo (Italy). Airbnb specifies that the person recruited must “be interested in the rehabilitation of Sambuca” and “actively participate in the new life of the village”, engaged in a rejuvenation campaign.

Applicants must be of legal age and ready to move into Sambuca by June 30, 2022. They will first spend three months there, with Italian and local cooking classes supported by Airbnb, before hosting guests. travelers for nine months. They must also be able to conduct a conversation in English.
