Al Roker: He's talking about his cancer

Al Roker has developed prostate cancer. The presenter of the "Today" show must therefore be operated on.

US presenter Al Roker (66) spoke about his cancer diagnosis for the first time this Friday (November 6th). The presenter said on the "Today" show that he had prostate cancer. "The good news is we figured it out early on. The bad news is that the cancer is a little aggressive, so I'm going to take time out to deal with it," he said.

After an initial examination, the 66-year-old had an MRI and a biopsy that confirmed the diagnosis. Roker said he would have his prostate removed during an operation in a hospital in New York and hope to be able to return to the NBC show in two weeks. With his statement on TV, he wanted to call on men to be examined at an early stage.
