Amazon: advertising on Prime Video from 2024


(CercleFinance.com) – Amazon announced Friday that it plans to broadcast advertising screens on its video-on-demand service Prime Video from next year in order to continue to invest in its original content.

In a press release released this morning, the Internet giant assures that its advertising messages will be ‘limited’ and much lower than the spots currently broadcast on traditional channels and other streaming platforms.

These first spots will appear in the United States, Great Britain, Germany and Canada in early 2024, before arriving in France, Italy, Spain, Mexico and Australia by the end of next year .

Amazon specifies that the prices of its Prime subscriptions will not change, but that it will now offer an ad-free plan at $2.99 ​​per month for its American subscribers.

The prices that will characterize other countries have yet to be determined.

Following this announcement, Amazon shares rebounded by 1.5% on Friday morning on the New York Stock Exchange.
