After separating from Markus Lanz, Angela Lanz is in the spotlight as a fitness influencer. Now she had to be strong: During a competition she injured her knee, which “changed everything”.
Angela Lanz: “A setback hit me hard”
Markus Lanz’s ex-wife took part in a fitness race run by “Hyrox Germany”. Various sports exercises are completed over time. According to her own statements, it was her second participation in such a race – and it “felt so much easier than the first,” Lanz reveals in her post on Instagram. Although she had already been put to the test beforehand: she had been sick off and on for four weeks. “That’s why I promised myself that I would take it easy so as not to harm my body,” writes the athlete. Although she approached the race with a relaxed mindset due to her poor health, she had to deal with another setback during the competition.
“The painful fall on my left knee changed everything,” admits Lanz and explains, “I lost my rhythm and pace, had to walk for a while and the lunges became an ordeal.” She struggled with severe pain throughout the rest of the race. “Every repetition was painful for my knee,” reveals the fitness influencer. She doesn’t know how she managed to keep going despite the setback. But their fighting spirit was worth it; Lanz was even eight minutes faster than in her last race and took victory in her age group. “I’m more than happy with my time,” she reveals proudly. No wonder: With this she even qualified for the World Cup.
Angela Lanz is more than the “wife of…”
Angela and Markus Lanz were married for twelve years. In February 2023, the couple surprisingly announced the end of their marriage. Since then the two have gone their separate ways. While Markus Lanz was often in the limelight as one of the most famous German talk show hosts, his ex-wife stayed in the background and rarely accompanied him to appointments. Since the separation, Angela Lanz seems to have enjoyed public life more and is enjoying her fame – at least on social media.
