How do I see Lunar New Year content in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
First, when you go to start your game, our dear Marie will make you a special announcement and will tell you that “ the lunar new year starts today “.
Afterwards, when you walk around your little island, you will quickly notice that the locals have only one word in their mouths, “ Lunar New Year » ! Depending on the personality of your villagers, you will obviously have different feelings about this special holiday. Feel free to find out what they think of it.
Lunar New Year items
Once you’ve talked to your villagers, feel free to go to the Residents Office at the Nook Machine. Connect to it then go to the tab “ Special items “, then ” Temporary items ». You will then find objects corresponding to the Chinese New Year, including a Lunar New Year decoration or a Hongbao for luck. Note that the prices have increased compared to the image below, dating from the 2021 edition. In 2022, the lucky hóngbāo items (the envelope) and the lucky Bokjumeoni are worth 600 bells, while the Lunar New Year has increased to 2,400 bells.
As the name suggests, these items are temporary, so don’t delay in getting your hands on them, especially if you want to celebrate the event. Having started on January 30, the lunar event will end on February 6, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
