Alperen A. (28), known as the «Arbon Jihadist», will no longer be able to enter Switzerland and the Schengen area legally.
A year ago it became known that Alperen A. * from Arbon would have his Swiss passport and his citizenship revoked. Now the “Tagblatt” reports that Alperen A. has been expelled from the country and that he has been banned from entering Switzerland and the entire Schengen area for an unlimited period. At the end of the year, the Federal Office of Police (Fedpol) published a corresponding ruling. Alperen A. was naturalized in 1998 at the age of four and was then a dual Swiss-Turkish citizen until his Swiss citizenship was revoked in 2021. Alperen grew up in Arbon TG, where he was considered to be well integrated. He completed an apprenticeship and is also involved in clubs. But at some point the young man became radicalized and became a Muslim missionary for “Lies!”, An organization that distributed Korans at booth events.
In 2014 Alperen traveled to Syria for jihad. He was later followed by his then pregnant wife. She is said to have intended to convince her husband to return. But without success. Against her will, the German had to give birth to her daughter in the crisis area and could not leave Syria for the time being. In April 2015, Alperen released his wife and child in the Syrian-Turkish border area. Alperen was later arrested in Turkey. It is unclear where he is currently.
