Assassin’s Creed: Ubisoft would have recycled a DLC of Valhalla for its next game

Despite the critical and commercial success of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft is not living its best period, undermined by half-hearted releases, not to say failures in some cases. Most of its flagship franchises can’t do better and are slipping, like Far Cry 6 or Watch Dogs Legion. While some games, like Immortals Fenyx Rising (and Valhalla), have managed to do well, Ubisoft seems to have a fairly light schedule in terms of major content for the next few months..

According to the latest rumors, from Bloomberg, with reliable industry sources, the studio would have made the choice to transform an extension planned for Valhalla into a standalone game, to fill his calendar of releases. The project would currently be codenamed Rift, and would offer an experience featuring Basim, a popular character from the latest entry in the saga. Naturally, this game would be smaller in scope, less access to the open world and more about stealthwhich had made the franchise famous at the time.

The release of this new Assassin’s Creed game will be scheduled for the end of 2022, or the beginning of 2023 internally. Ubisoft should not be long in making it official, if the rumors are true. When contacted, the studio explained that it was not commenting “ rumors or speculation, as it does a disservice to our development teams and our community “.

Regarding the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, which is certain, is that an extension arrives in March, with the Dawn of Ragnarök. Another episode, free-to-play and connected with all games, has also been announced, named Assassin’s Creed Infinity.
