Born on November 14, 1961 in Alexandria, Egypt, Nagui left his native land at the age of only four, when his family moved to Aix-en-Provence in the south of France. Subsequently, the future presenter lived for a time in Canada, before finally returning to France. Nagui grew up near Cannes. Student at the Stanislas Institute from 1972 to 1979 [un établissement privé catholique], the future presenter initially intended for a career in commerce, before abandoning his studies to devote himself entirely to his passion: radio. Although today he is mainly known for the shows he presents on television, such as Do not forget the lyrics on France 2, Nagui has never stopped making his voice heard on the airwaves. After having officiated on the antennas of RTL and Europe 1, the host is at the helm of the daily show called The original band since 2014 on France Inter.

Thanks to the presence of this participant, the presenter remembered many memories of his youth in this emblematic city in the south of France. “It’s crazy what childhood places mean because I grew up in Cannes. And from the moment I saw that you were from Cannes, I have lots of images that come back to me”, Nagui first said to this candidate. While he was listing the places that marked his childhood near Cannes, the host was interrupted by his interlocutor, who mentioned the old school he attended. “Stanislas !”she blurted. “Yes, it’s true, I was with the priests.”replied Nagui. “Given the result, I’m not sure that this is good publicity for priests”, then added the host, in a slightly mocking tone. For her part, the candidate revealed that she also studied in the same school as Nagui, before finally becoming an intensive care doctor.
