Ed Sheeran came, sang and once again conquered the top of the German charts with his album “Autumn Variations”.

If the British musician Ed Sheeran (32) releases a new album, success is also guaranteed in Germany. Consequently, his new record “Autumn Variations” immediately reached number one in the Official German Charts, determined by GfK Entertainment. Of his seven studio albums, it is the fifth to reach the chart throne in this country.

A contrasting program follows in second place: Kastelruther Spatzen have been frequently seen guests in the charts for decades. With their new album “Herz und Heimat” they end up behind Sheeran and in front of multi-instrumentalist Steven Wilson (55), who completes the top three with his “The Harmony Codex”. What all three works have in common is that they have just entered the charts.

Everything is the same for singles

Meanwhile, there is significantly less movement – none, to be precise – in the single charts. As in the previous week and for the sixth time in a row, Sira, Bausa & badchieff defend their place in the sun with “9 to 9”. Also unchanged are “Prada” by cassö, Raye & D-Block Europe” in second place and “Ugly” by Ayliva in bronze.

Anyone who wants to experience Ed Sheeran’s new songs live will have the opportunity to do so next year. The pop star and singer/songwriter was recently announced as one of the headliners for twin festivals Southside/Hurricane. It should be the only way to see the Brit live in Germany in 2024.
