The delays in the release dates of the films were explained by producer Jon Landau by the intense work of computer-generated imagery necessary for the production of each component.

Avatar 3, 4 and 5: releases postponed for the next James Cameron films

The Avatar films are indeed rich in technological prowess and the precursor James Cameron and his team do not skimp on the means and do not hesitate to invent new ways of doing things so that the visual rendering is as realistic as possible.

Released 13 years after the first installment, Avatar: The Waterway proved that viewers were, despite the long wait, ready to return to Pandora alongside the heroes.

Avatar 2 has in fact garnered $2.3 billion internationally and ranks third among the biggest international box office successes behind Avengers: Endgame, and its $2.7 billion, and the first Avatar which raised $2.9 billion worldwide. And Zoe Saldaña played in all 3!
