Here is exciting news for all fans of Bandai Namco games. The publisher has indeed announced that it will create a metaverse inspired by all the franchises it has, and this, for an impressive sum of $130 million.

Bandai Namco announces the creation of its metaverse for 15 billion yen

While the announced sum of $130 million is impressive enough, Bandai Namco’s plan (via VGC) will not be done in a month. According to the publisher’s report, this is a medium-term plan that will start in April 2022 and end around March 2025 if everything goes smoothly.

According to the studio, this medium-term plan will be articulated around 3 main objectives. The first will be to establish a connection with the fans through the intellectual property, the second will be to improve the value of this, and finally the third will be to ensure that this project has a not national but global reach. .

For it, Bandai Namco will create a new intellectual property that we mentioned just before, and so this one will be a Metaverse IPs. In all, for its creation, it will therefore require 130 million dollars.

To be clear, the editor’s goal here is to reach an incredibly wider audience, but also and above all to allow all its future games to benefit from a considerable sales boost thanks to the creation of this metaverse which will then group together all the titles to come.

In this metaverse, we envision virtual spaces that will allow customers to enjoy a wide range of entertainment tied to our IPs, as well as frameworks that leverage Bandai Namco’s distinctive strengths to merge physical products with digital elements. We aim to establish open environments that provide opportunities for connection with and between fans and business partners.

At this time, we don’t have any more details on this project or what form it will take, but we’ll know more in the coming weeks.

There is less than a month to wait before you can play FromSoftware’s open world title. To wait, here is a book containing an introduction to his universe, accompanied by a long interview with Hidetaka Miyazaki in which he talks about the development and their choices.
