But how exactly do the two trends work?
The lip-oil is celebrating its big comeback
What basically looks confusingly similar to a conventional lip gloss is currently conquering social media. Lip oil can be seen everywhere right now. Whether while scrolling on TikTok and Instagram or in the handbags of our friends: inside. Because especially now, when it is getting colder and lips are getting drier due to heating air, lip oil not only gives us that certain glossy glow, but also becomes a real savior on lip care. Lip oil donates significantly more moisture than conventional lip gloss – without sticking. With soft colors and a certain plump effect, the beauty trend has built a decent fan base for a reason.
How exactly does lip oil work?
Applying an oil to the lips may sound strange at first. Lip oils add shine and are generally more nourishing than lip balms. They are also more highly pigmented and thus strengthen the natural color of the lips. Applied to the lips, the product penetrates deeply to moisturize and nourish the skin, unlike many lip balms that just apply to the skin. This means that you have to constantly reapply.
