The world’s catwalks are not only defining for the fashion industry, the Fashion Weeks in Paris, New York, London and Milan also set new trends in make-up over and over again. Shortly before the turn of the year, we reviewed the fashion shows and compiled the most beautiful and most promising beauty trends for 2022.
Beauty trends 2022: 5 looks that we already love
Statement cheeks: Blush with a difference
Although we have grown fond of the fake complexion in recent years, next year it will be: bye-bye, bronzer and welcome to statement blush. Red cheeks are super hip in 2022, but they are not different from what we know them. Designer Anna Sui showed it on her catwalk: next year, eye-catching shades of blush are the trend. From pink to vermilion – the main thing is that it pops. Looks in which the shade of the blush in the eye shadow is picked up again are particularly sophisticated. Shine bright: Glossy lips are the must-have for 2022

On the catwalks of Fendi, Giambattista Valli and Boss x Russell Athletic, the shimmering lips caught our eye immediately. Millennials will love the new beauty trend, because glossy lips are sensual and glamorous at the same time. As with so many makeup trends, two looks can be combined here. A beauty look for the coming year is causing discussions in our editorial team. While we think that you don’t necessarily have to go along with this trend, Dior, Chanel and also Prabal Gurung send the models with dark, black-rimmed eyes down the catwalk. What is a beauty faux pas from days gone by for many is, for others, a way of adding depth and mysticism to your own look. However, the trend is bringing a little new momentum to the beauty scene and celebrities such as actress Zendaya swear by the dark wings.
Beauty trend 2022: red lips are coming back
Red lips a trend? Strictly speaking, they’re nothing new, but they still get a cool update every few years. Although the principle remains the same, there are always innovations that make the famous Red Lips shine in a new light. At Gucci, Michael Kors, Saint Laurent and Fendi, the red lips will primarily be worn in the Snow White style in 2022. A matt complexion and bright, cool red tones are very popular here. The seductive lips can also be easily combined with other beauty trends. Bright eye shadows, for example, add some 20s charm to your look.
Neon mania – next year we’ll have it colorful
They have long been an integral part of the techno scene, and neon colors will conquer the beauty industry in 2022. From now on, the following applies to our make-up: the gaudier, the better. Especially eyeliners in bright, luminous colors are very popular. Since the colorful lines around the eyes stand on their own, no further eyeshadow is required, which means a considerable time advantage for our beauty routine. Not only Versace, Chloé and Prabal Gurung are in neon fever, we also find the new beauty trend modern and innovative.

Five new and exciting beauty trends are waiting for us in the new year, but what about our beloved beauty rituals? Which old trends are still popular in 2022? Although the color worlds will be much brighter next year, a certain naturalness will still be retained.
