Carole Baskin was not enthusiastic about the first part of the Netflix series “Tiger King” – now she’s going to court against the second part.

The second season of “Tiger King” could be prevented by a main protagonist of the first: Carole Baskin (60) has sued Netflix. As reported by “Variety”, Baskin has taken legal action in Florida. Baskin and her husband accuse Royal Goode Productions and Netflix of breach of contract, as footage of the couple is also used in the second part, as the first trailer shows. The couple, however, claim they only agreed to be released for the first season.

Baskin on “Tiger King”: “Reality Show Garbage Fire”

As is well known, Baskin was not satisfied with this. She once referred to the series as “the reality show’s garbage fire”. According to Baskin, it was wrongly suggested that she was implicated in the disappearance of her first husband in 1997. The representation of their animal welfare organization Big Cat Rescue is also said to have been misleading, according to the lawsuit. The series would have shown that Big Cat Rescue keeps its animals in very small cages, which actually live in spacious enclosures.

The first part of “Tiger King” focused on the conflict between the private zoo owner Joe Exotic (58) and the animal rights activist Baskin. In 2018, Exotic was arrested and charged with hiring two men to murder Baskin. The following year, he was found guilty of multiple federal animal abuse charges and double attempted murder, and was sentenced to 22 years in prison in Fort Worth, Texas.
