Are Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez more than “just” friends? Director Kevin Smith is definitely hoping for a love comeback.
Joint paparazzi pictures of Ben Affleck (48) and Jennifer Lopez (51), who have been making the rounds through the network since the end of April 2021, are currently causing the rumor mill to boil over. After all, he is freshly separated from Ana de Armas (33), she is even fresher from Alex Rodriguez (45) – and both of them are back on the market. Will you try it again more than 15 years after separating from “Bennifer”? Affleck’s longtime friend Kevin Smith (50) is apparently very much hoping for this love comeback.
The two have known each other since the mid-1990s, Affleck starred in several Smith films, including “Mallrats” (1995), “Chasing Amy” (1997) and “Dogma” (1999). Accordingly, Smith remembers the time Affleck was with Lopez. To the current He writes rumors on Twitter: “I hope it is true. I was there at the beginning of their relationship and they were adorable together and very much in love with each other. It would be wonderful for both of them if they had found their way back to each other after all these years.”

On a very sentimental note, Smith did not want to end his post and added his typical humor: “An unrelated side note? ‘Jersey Girl 2: Necronomicon’ is coming soon!” As a reminder, “Jersey Girl” from 2004 directed Smith, Affleck played the male and Lopez the female lead.
The reward for it all was limited. Affleck and Lopez each received the nomination for “Worst Leading Actor” and “Worst Leading Actress” at the Golden Raspberry Awards 2005. And they were also nominated as “Worst Screen Couple” – in real life they were at this point in time and after about 18 months of relationship already separated from each other.
