Bernie Sanders gloves are an absolute cult after just a few days. Soon the woolen mittens will even be available in stores.

On the net, the actual inauguration of Joe Biden (78) was not a viral hit, but a funny snapshot by an AFP photographer of the Democratic Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders (79). Crossed legs, a surgical mask on the face, a khaki jacket and large woolen mittens made the Sanders look an internet hype within a few hours. The gloves were knitted by Jennifer Ellis (42), a teacher and an avowed supporter of Sanders.

Ellis now announced via Twitter, that their design would be mass-produced in the future; any income it generates from it is intended to benefit charities. Within a few days, she received 13,000 emails from people who wanted these gloves. She doesn't knit herself anymore, but the mittens could soon be bought on the Teddy Bear homepage.

Ellis originally gifted Senders a pair of the gloves in 2016 when he was running for the Democratic presidency. In 2020, however, she found out that Sanders had loaned them, whereupon she sent him ten new copies.
