BMW: also plans to produce batteries in Hungary


(CercleFinance.com) – The BMW group has announced the construction of a battery assembly site for vehicles in its NEUE KLASSE (new class in German) in Hungary, within its future vehicle factory in Debrecen, construction for six months.

This new activity will generate some 500 additional jobs on this Hungarian site which, in total, will have required nearly 2 billion euros of investment.

‘In Debrecen, we are building the most advanced factory in the world. With our iFACTORY, we are setting new industry standards for vehicle production,” emphasizes Milan Nedeljković, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG.

All vehicle batteries at the Debrecen plant will be assembled on site. The new production site will cover an area of ​​approximately 140,000 m² and is expected to open at the end of 2025.
