(CercleFinance.com) – BMW Group announces an additional investment in the Landshut factory. The German component manufacturing site is continuing its transformation towards electric mobility.

The BMW Group plant in Landshut is increasing its production capacity by expanding the manufacturing facilities for the central housing of the electric drive unit that will equip the Neue Klasse models.

BMW Group is investing an additional 200 million euros, bringing the total investments made at the German factory site since 2020 to around 1 billion euros.

Of this amount, around 500 million euros were used for the expansion of the factory to cover electric mobility.

The annual production capacity of fifth and sixth generation aluminum enclosures increases by approximately 30%.

‘We are constantly expanding the expertise at our site, both for the production of our cutting-edge components and for the development of new technologies,’ explains Thomas Thym, Director of BMW Group Plant Landshut. ‘This skill set gives us the flexibility we will need in the future.’
