Book by Thomas Macho – “We don’t even notice that we eat animals”

In Europe, almost every adult consumes an average of almost 60 kilos of meat per year. Why do we actually eat so much meat?
Because we don’t even notice. How often do we eat chicken nuggets, fish fingers, burgers or simply a goulash without being able to perceive for a second the shape of the animals whose meat we are eating. Because we don’t notice it, and because these meals are de-ritualized and take place every day, we suddenly eat some meat products three times a day without thinking about the background and prerequisites, especially in view of the climate crisis.
