Suffering from Charcot’s disease since 2014, Guilhem Gallart alias Pone, asked Marc-Antoine Le Bret to imitate his voice in order to be able to communicate with those close to him.
It all started on Instagram in December 2020. The Breton impersonator, often known for his criticism of political and sports figures with a humorous touch, receives a message from Pone, producer of the Fonky Family.
“I am not unhappy. But for my wife Wahiba and my two daughters, I would like to find the sound of my voice. Can you imitate me so that we can modify this voice in the software? ”Asked the producer.
These few moving words prompted Marc-Antoine Le Bret to accept this request, qualifying it as “the greatest challenge since the start of his career”.
A robotic and cold voice
To achieve this, Marc-Antoine Le Bret succeeded in capturing the texture of the voice, the accents and the intentions thanks to video sequences of Pone in family. “On his advice, I made a few changes: a little hair on the tongue, maybe a little more serious. We had to work on a hundred different phrases so that the software could integrate this voice well. A tedious and precise job for several months, ”said the comedian, quoted by Ouest-France.
“He can communicate thanks to software that captures the movement of his eyes and transcribes it on a computer. What comes out of it is a robotic, metallic and cold voice, ”he added.
“I had a stupid voice”
After a titanic job, Marc-Antoine Le Bret wins the challenge. Saturday, December 18, he goes to Guilhem Gallart, in the Tarn to present the results of his recordings to him.
“When Marc-Antoine imitated my live voice, I commented: it’s true that I had a stupid voice!”, Quipped the beatmaker.
Pone claims to have been touched by the approach of the Breton imitator. “Now I am waiting to see what the machine will do with it,” he concluded.
Quadriplegic, tracheostomy and mute, Guilhem Gallart has managed to release two albums, an EP and a mix for the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
