Opposition members spied on with Pegasus in Poland
A lawyer associated with the country’s opposition, Roman Giertych, and prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek, who is critical of the government, have been attacked by the Israeli NSO Group’s spyware Pegasus. John Scott-Railton, a researcher at the University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab, said this on Twitter earlier this week. In the last four months of 2019, Giertych’s iPhone was hacked at least 18 times, the Citizen Lab found. At that time, the lawyer represented the former Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who is now chairman of the Citizens’ Forum and thus the country’s largest opposition party, and ex-Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.

Identify online with your smartphone
Citizens can now identify themselves online with their smartphones. The Federal Network Agency has provisionally recognized the electronic proof of identity with the smartphone. The ruling is initially valid for two years. A qualified security certificate based on the electronic identity linked to the identity card is used. The process is legally secured and can also be carried out with government services. To this end, the Federal Network Agency published a notice in its official gazette. The Bundestag had already passed a law in May, according to which the German citizens can save the official online ID directly on their smartphone or tablet.
Tesla: Game functionality is checked
Because drivers of a Tesla can play video games while driving, the US traffic safety authority, the “National Highway Traffic Safety Administration”, has now opened an official investigation. The Department of Vehicle Defect Investigation of the US Road Safety Administration fears that drivers could be distracted and that this would increase the risk of accidents. Now she wants to “preliminarily evaluate” the function. The investigation is about the Tesla models 3, S, X and Y from model years 2017 to 2022, according to a message from the US traffic safety authority.
James Webb Space Telescope: Launch December 25th
The James Webb space telescope will launch on December 25 between 1:20 p.m. and 1:52 p.m. Central European Time, announced the US space agency NASA.
