It’s official: Britney Spears is writing an autobiography. Justin Timberlake also plays a crucial role in this.

Britney Spears (40) confirmed on Instagram that she is currently working on her memoir. That previously claimed already “Page Six”. The industry side of the “New York Post” spoke of a book contract worth 15 million US dollars (equivalent to around 13 million euros).

On Monday, the singer shared a first impression of the creation process on her channel. She called this one according to Us Weekly as “healing and therapeutic”. “It’s also hard to bring to light past events in my life that I’ve never been able to speak openly about,” she wrote along with the now-defunct screenshots of her notes.

She is aware that these may seem “irrelevant” to most after all these years. However, she is guided by Justin Timberlake’s (41) “intellectual approach”. “Although he was never bullied or threatened by his family, he took the opportunity to apologize 20 years later. Timing is everything,” Spears explained, teasing her ex.

This is how Justin Timberlake apologized

With the apology comment, she refers to a statement by her ex-partner from February 2021. Shortly after the publication of the documentary “Framing Britney”, which did not put him in a good light, Timberlake apologized to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson (55).

In an Instagram post, he explainedthat he knew that in many moments he had not acted correctly “and that he had benefited from a system that tolerated misogyny and racism”. He is sorry that at times in his life he contributed to the problem with his actions or did not do what was right. In particular, he wanted to apologize to Spears and Jackson because they are important to him, he respects them “and because I know I failed.” He was “not perfect” and this apology is only “a first step” that does not undo the past.

The ‘Say Something’ hitmaker previously allegedly fueled rumors that Spears cheated on him. In addition, in interviews he spoke openly about intimate details from the relationship with the singer. He apologized to Jackson for the Nipplegate affair during the Super Bowl halftime show in 2004. During their joint live performance, he had bared her breasts with a skillful grip in front of an audience of millions.

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake dated for four years before separating in 2002. The couple had already met in the mid-1990s as part of the cast of “The All New Mickey Mouse Club”, or “MMC” for short.
