Bruno Le Maire: his big tackle to Léa Salamé after an angry question

Bruno Le Maire was invited to the morning show of France Inter this Tuesday, February 8. During the interview, the Minister of the Economy did not appreciate a question from Léa Salamé, and did not hesitate to let him know.

It’s a question that annoyed Bruno the Mayor. This Tuesday, February 8, Léa Salamé and Nicolas Demorand received the Minister of the Economy in the morning of France Inter. During the interview, the journalists wanted to address a particularly tense subject. “EDF employees are not happy, you know that. You have imposed on EDF to limit the increase in the price of electricity to 4%. To achieve this, the company must sell low-cost electricity to its competitors. Your decision was denounced by the management, by the employees, who accuse you of endangering EDF’s finances, with the risk of the company being scuttled. What do you say to them?”asked Léa Salamé to Bruno Le Maire.

“That we can’t say that! We can’t say that Léa Salamé”immediately replied the minister, irritated by this question. “This is not me saying it”, corrected the journalist. “I know, but we must also stop peddling nonsense”relaunched Bruno Le Maire before developing his point: “What would it have been like if the government had allowed electricity prices, on February 1 or 2, to increase by 35 to 40%? Which government would have accepted that French households see such an increase in their bills?. The Minister of the Economy then affirmed that he was “fair and natural that when prices soar, EDF (…) participates in the effort, in which the State has also participated.”

Bruno Le Maire forecasts a drop in inflation by the end of 2022

Asked about the extent of the rise in inflation rates (2.9% in France), Bruno Le Maire wanted to reassure the French. He thus clarified that he expected a drop in inflation within a few months. “We are working on a main scenario which is the fall in inflation from the end of 2022″he thus assured on the airwaves.
