Call of Duty RUMOR: Activision-Blizzard considering stopping annual releases

Even if Activision-Blizzard was never clear on the numbers, he had announced that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare of 2019 had achieved the best sales figures in the history of the saga, after 2 quarters of operation. The license, which has been entitled to one release per year since 2005, experienced more difficulties afterwards, while Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was not unanimous and that Call of Duty: Vanguard really divided. Rumor has it that a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 take over at the end of the year, an idea that could work after the popular remake of the first part.

But whileActivision-Blizzard has just been acquired by Microsoft, call of duty will it continue to be entitled to new episodes every year ? According to the often well-informed Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, which reports remarks entrusted by two well-placed sources, the publisher is considering putting an end to this frantic pace. Nothing is signed, but he would like stop producing soon CODE per year, to enhance the quality of the games and not lose the confidence of the players. This decision would also allow the publisher’s emblematic studios to have time to take an interest in other projects, in these times when the majority of the teams are mobilized on premium episodes and Call of Duty: Warzone.

The decision was not ratified, and it is certainly a question of rumors of corridors, but the simple idea thatActivision can put an end to call of duty annualized is enough to give hope to lovers of the franchise and other flagship licenses of the company. Call of Duty: Vanguard is otherwise available from €61.81 on Amazon.co.uk.
