In the last two years, Austria has found itself in the greatest health crisis in a century. However, the government has still not taken a single, urgently needed reform measure that would noticeably facilitate the daily work of the 400,000 employees in the health and social professions, emphasizes the “Offensive Health”, an association of workers ‘and doctors’ associations and the health unions.

“Many of our employees are now physically and mentally at their limit. We are only as strong as each individual, which is why we want to express our justified displeasure together on November 10th. We need immediate relief in order to be able to take countermeasures quickly, ”said the representatives of the“ Offensive Gesundheit ”. It was already five past twelve. Because even before the crisis, the health, care and social sectors suffered from massive staff shortages. The pandemic would have made that even worse.
Not more fine words!
Politicians finally need adequate remuneration, more free time and urgently more staff and not even more nice words! In addition, fundamental training reforms and improved working conditions are needed quickly, in order not to slide further into the dangerous supply crisis. With the protest action one wants to send a signal to all political leaders at federal and state level. “We have been promised a lot lately. It is now time to translate words into deeds ”, is now vehemently demanded.
