Cauet accused of rape: the “devastated” host speaks for the first time: “I’m in pieces”


Since November 22, Sébastien Cauet has been absent from his show on NRJ. A decision taken jointly with the radio management, while the star host has been accused of rape since November 18 by a young woman named Julie. The facts date back to 2014, when Julie was not yet 16 years old. Another attack would then have taken place in 2022. The complainant allegedly contacted the host again before he attacked her at his home. Since this first testimony, two other women filed a complaint against the one we simply call CauetAnd an investigation was opened at the minor protection brigade. The accused, for the moment presumed innocent, denies all the facts with which he is accusedAnd his lawyers filed four complaints : two for harassment and two for slanderous denunciation and attempted aggravated extortion.

Stay quiet, he spoke for the first time in front of the camera on the set of BFMTV in front of Benjamin Duhamel December 10, “For (his) friends, (her) familywho undergo this (which he undergoes) since weeks”. Continuing to assert that “everything is false” and that’he is “completely innocent”the host appeared solemn on television. “I’ll try to tell you what I’m like right now. Inside, I’m in pieces. I’m devastated.” He goes on to explain that he has experienced many tragedies, such as the deaths of his parents, but that the accusations against him are even more terrible. “I thought I had experienced the hardest, I am currently experiencing the hardest. Because it’s terrible. Being accused of this kind of thing, there’s nothing worse.” First without a word for the alleged victims, Cauet still added that “the words of women victims are sacred”.

A first complaint filed for harassment

The case dates back to October 13, when screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation in which the host allegedly made sexual propositions to a minor are published on. They will be republished on November 15, before a complaint for harassment is filed by Sébastien Cauet, and another for rape by a certain Julie.
