CES 2022 – LG PuriCare AeroTower, the new air purifier that heats and ventilates

LG is not at its first attempt when it comes to air purifiers. The Korean manufacturer is taking advantage of the CES show in Las Vegas to launch the PuriCare AeroTower. A model that purifies of course, but is also able to heat and ventilate.

After unveiling a portable air purifier in the form of a mask in 2020, the manufacturer LG presents this time a device in a more classic format called the PuriCare AeroTower.

Like a Dyson Hot & Cool or a Philips Series 2000, the PuriCare AeroTower is able to ventilate, purify but also heat the room. The device emits a jet of hot air up to a maximum of 30 ° C, enough to act as a backup heater for harsh winter evenings.

The PuriCare AeroTower has a tower-shaped architecture that offers a ventilation function thanks to the air flow directed from the front, and not on the top. Moreover, ten ventilation powers are available on this device.

LG seems to want to stand out from the competition by integrating new technologies on the PuriCare AeroTower. The latter is supposed to “create an air corridor covering a given surface“in order to produce”a constant breeze in the room“thanks to the Coandă effect, according to the manufacturer (yes yes, exactly like on the Dyson Airwrap Complete which uses this same technology). This physical phenomenon consists in propelling the air quickly towards a wall before it falls slowly, thereby diluting the fresh air with the ambient air.

UV-C and a “Coandă effect”

Another technological advance, the PuriCare AeroTower uses ultraviolet-C (known for their disinfectant properties of air and water) to reduce the presence of certain bacteria that may nest on the ventilator. If this technology has proven itself, we do not ask if, in this case, it is very relevant …

Otherwise, this new device is equipped with a very classic HEPA filter, which captures up to 99.97% of fine particles with a size greater than or equal to 0.3 micrometers.

The control panel, which takes the form of a touch screen, has taken up residence on the basis of the purifier. This display allows you to modify the different powers but also to check the data on the air quality at a glance. Connected and linked to the LG ThinQ app, the PuriCare AeroTower can be controlled remotely. The app delivers data on the level of air pollution but also allows you to adjust the intensity of the ventilation remotely (practical for giving the bedroom a little warming up just before going to bed, without having to to move).

Finally, this new purifier is not supposed to emit a sound level higher than 23 dB (A) which is particularly quiet.

We will not fail to provide you with new elements during the official presentation of the PuriCare AeroTower on January 5 at CES. For now, no price has been revealed.
