The Chinese manufacturer is back with a new model line called S7 MaxV Ultra. There is a unique intelligent station and a LiDAR sensor
which promises to be formidable in efficiency.

Roborock wants to take advantage of CES 2022 to show off its new generation of robot vacuum cleaners boosted by artificial intelligence. One year after the Roborock S6 and the Roborock S6 MaxV, which still suffered from a few small flaws, especially in the software part, the manufacturer is back with a new generation of products which will always push automated cleaning a little further to its limits.

A new automatic station which accentuates the “autonomous” side of the robot vacuum cleaner

In Las Vegas, Roborock will present to the public its new Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, S7 MaxV Plus and S7 MaxV range, which should be available to the general public during the first quarter. It is more particularly the first city which interests us today, since it is the first to be truly revealed.

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, which, combined with its charging station, would almost resemble a coffee machine, is initially equipped with a new intelligent station. This takes the brand to a new level in task automation and intelligence, like the S6 MaxV’s dual camera system, which will seem like a distant memory to you. ” With the S7 MaxV Ultra, users take a further step towards complete autonomy in cleaning floors », Promises Richard Chang, founder and boss of Roborock.

The company is also highlighting the new automatic station on its vacuum robot, called Empty Wash Fill Dock. The aim of the station is to make the user perform less and less manual tasks. Thus, the mop automatically cleans itself during and after cleaning sessions.

The station is also self-cleaning, while the dust bag will keep you away from the hair of your pooch or tomcat for a long time. It may indeed contain ” up to 7 weeks of particles “Roborock promises. In addition, the automatic water refill function allows the S7 MaxV Ultra to clean an area 50% more than previous generations, approximately 300 m².

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, or AI at the service of efficiency

The artificial intelligence and object recognition system, named ReactiveAI, is also making its return in a 2.0 edition, which features an RGB camera and a 3D scan by structured light. This technology is supposed to make it even easier to bypass objects that are in the way of the S7 MaxV Ultra, regardless of the brightness level of the room (s).

In 2021, this system was, for us consumers, still in full development. Progress should be certain in 2022, with recognition and positioning of furniture in the application that promise to be stunning, subject to a full-scale test to be sure, of course. Roborock adds that the vacuum cleaner is able to identify the different rooms in the house. He can therefore recommend the appropriate cleaning method, as well as the suction power and the intensity of the friction, depending on the specific nature of the floor. LiDAR navigation and 3D mapping are on the menu.

Regarding autonomy, Roborock announces 180 minutes for the S7 MaxV Ultra. No progress compared to the previous generation therefore, but the promise is already more than adequate. For power, on the other hand, the Chinese manufacturer tells us of a gigantic leap forward, with a battery that goes from 2,500 Pa for the S6 MaxV to 5,100 Pa for the S7 MaxV Ultra. From single to double. Like a car on the Paris-Dakar, the robot will be able to juggle easily according to the reliefs. Its sonic vibration mop allows it to rise automatically when climbing on a carpet, for example.

To get the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and its concentrate of technologies, count on a recommended retail price of 1399 euros. The lower models are accessible for less than 1000 euros: 999 euros for the S7 MaxV Plus and 799 euros for the Roborock S7 MaxV.

Mid-range devices, from the Q series from Roborock, should arrive on the French market with a new dump station. The vacuum cleaner should be equipped with the automatic emptying function common to the manufacturer’s S-series technologies. But we will have the opportunity to talk about it again soon.
