  • Davos narrowly loses the last group game of the Champions Hockey League and thus misses out on winning the group.
  • The ZSC Lions also had to admit defeat at the end of the group phase.
  • The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers say goodbye to the Champions League with a win.

Ocelari Trinec – Davos 4: 3

There were many indications of an extension in Trinec, but after exactly 58 minutes Gilles Senn had to be defeated by Daniel Vozenilek to make it 3:4. The Davos threw everything forward again afterwards, but the equalizer didn’t want to come anymore. Raphael Prassl, Enzo Corvi and Simon Knak had previously been successful for the Grisons. Because Skelleftea won their last group game against Belfast 4-1, the Swedes snatched the group victory from HCD at the last minute.

ZSC Lions – Rögle 3: 4

The ZSC Lions advanced against Rögle in Dübendorf with a power play hit by Simon Bodenmann. However, the guests immediately equalized with a double majority and later took the lead 2:1 and 3:2. After the 4:2 of the guests (47th) by the only 18-year-old Austrian Marco Kasper, the game seemed decided. But Chris Baltisberger brought hope back to the hosts with his goal to make it 3:4 (57 th ). However, the equalizer was denied to Zurich. Defending champion Rögle thus secures the group victory, the ZSC is also in second place in the knockout phase.

Lakers 4-1 Slovan Bratislava

With a much younger squad and only one foreigner in their own ranks, Rapperswil-Jona ignited a veritable fireworks display in their home stadium. After less than 9 minutes, the St. Gallen already led 4:0, the goals for the Lakers were scored by Maxim Noreau (2), Yannick Capaul and Nando Eggenberger. The hosts confidently brought the lead home. The young goalkeeper Robin Meyer was only beaten once, in the 26th minute Liam Pecararo scored the consolation goal to make it 4-1. Despite points 7 to 9, the Lakers’ premiere participation in the Champions League ended in the group stage. This had already been established before the final game against Bratislava.
