The first shows “The Search”, the second film adaptation of Scotland Yard investigator Kate Linville by bestselling author Charlotte Link.

Reunion with Scotland Yard Investigator Kate Linville and Chief Inspector Caleb Hale: With the two-part “Die Suche” (October 28th and 30th at 8:15 pm in the first) there is another bestseller adaptation from the pen of successful author Charlotte Link ( 58) seen on TV. It is the second volume in their popular Kate Linville series, which started in 2015 with “Die Betrogene”. “The Search” followed three years later. Part three “Without Guilt” stormed the bestseller lists in 2020.

The main roles have been newly cast

In “The Search”, Scotland Yard investigator Kate Linville returns once more to her East English homeland. In doing so, she finds herself in the middle of a mysterious series of crimes involving the “Hochmoor-Killer”, which Chief Inspector Caleb Hale puts under great pressure. While Peri Baumeister (35) and Dirk Borchardt (52) played the investigators in the film “Die Betrogene”, there is now a new cast. Henny Reents (46) and Lucas Gregorowicz (45) take on the roles of Kate Linville and Caleb Hale in the current film version.

Filming took place from mid-October to early December 2020 in Leeds, England, and picturesque Scarborough in North Yorkshire on the North Sea. Author Charlotte Link was also involved in the filming. “During the development phase of the script, I keep talking to the producer, screenwriter and director. We discuss everything for a long time, but the producer has the last word,” she said in an interview with spot on news at the end of 2020.

Will the third film version follow soon?

The fact that Henny Reents was chosen as Kate surprised the author, who had imagined her character to be “not quite as attractive and not red-haired”. “But I like her as a type.” The third book in the series will probably also be filmed, Link continued.

The 58-year-old is one of the most commercially successful German-speaking authors today. In addition to the Kate Linville series, she has filmed many other bestsellers, including “The Other Child” and “In the Valley of the Fox”. And which film adaptation has the author liked best so far? “I was very fond of ‘The Last Trace’. The film adaptation was very much in keeping with the book.”

The author is currently working on a new work. Kate Linville is also far from over. “I certainly have ideas about how your life will develop, but that is still very vague.”
