After the preview ofAndroid 13 offered by Oppo and OnePlus on certain devices, here comes ColorOS 13… At least in beta. We take stock of the eligible models.
Reconciliation between Oppo and OnePlus obliges, the two brands will gradually rely on ColorOS, the Android overlay initially designed by Oppo and intended for its products. As expected, the next version of the software, ColorOS 13, will therefore arrive on at least one device stamped OnePlus… and initially in China.
Which eligible devices from Oppo and OnePlus?
In all, and as pointed out XDA-Developersonly a small handful of models are currently eligible for the first beta of ColorOS 13. Beta for which you will need to register first.
Here are the models concerned at this stage:
- Oppo Find X5 Lite
- Oppo Find X5
- Oppo Find X5 Pro
- Oppo Find N (folding smartphone marketed only in China)
- OnePlus 10 Pro
How do I sign up for the ColorOS 13 beta?
To register for the ColorOS 13 beta with any of the Oppo smartphones listed above, an update to the latest version of ColorOS 12 is required beforehand. Then go to the “About” section of the device via the settings, click on the ColorOS version banner at the top of the screen, select the “Trial versions” option in the menu with the three small dots on the next page, then follow the instructions to register.
OnePlus 10 Pro users will need to follow a similar process. Again, the installation of the latest updates available for OxygenOS is required. You must then go to the “About” section of the settings, after which you can complete a registration request.
Note in any case that the beta of Color OS 13 will initially be granted drop by drop by Oppo and OnePlus. Moreover, and as mentioned above, this beta is currently reserved for Chinese users of the OnePlus 10 Pro. The reason is simple: Western users of the device will receive OxygenOS 13. In our latitudes, the big leap from OnePlus to ColorOS is not expected for at least several months.
