Connection to compulsory vaccination?
More people in care are looking for work

In December and January, more people from the health and social sector register as job seekers than usual. 12,000 of them come from nursing alone. The employment agency suspects a connection with the upcoming vaccination requirement in this area.
Before the introduction of a facility-related compulsory corona vaccination in the health care system, the Federal Employment Agency has noticed movement on the labor market. From the health and social sector, 25,000 more people than usual reported looking for work in December and January, said board member Daniel Terzenbach in Nuremberg.
Job seekers are people who report imminent unemployment to the employment agency but are still in the job, explained a spokesman for the federal agency. A compulsory vaccination in health and social care is to come into force on March 16th.
“We’re already seeing an increase, but overall at a level that doesn’t have to worry us,” said Terzenbach. He spoke of around 25,000 people from the entire health and social sector who had reported looking for work above the usual level, around 12,000 of them from care.
It is currently not known whether the increased number is due to corresponding calls on social media, among other things. A spokeswoman for the federal agency explained that there had been calls on various social media to register as a job seeker in the healthcare system before compulsory vaccination came into force.
Recently, a large number of newspaper advertisements allegedly from nursing staff looking for work also caused a sensation. However, at least some of these ads turn out to be fake.
