Corona crisis: This will change for the better after a surviving pandemic

Getting something positive out of horrible things like the corona crisis can sound cynical or seem like optimism. The fact is that once the pandemic is over, the world will be different. Whether it's looking at what is supposed to be insignificant or the way we work, live and love in the future: Here are some things that (hopefully) will help Post-Corona to do better.

The new serenity

First of all: People tend to displace unpleasant or painful experiences – otherwise there wouldn't be a single woman in the world with more than one child. At least temporarily, after the Corona crisis has been overcome, a pleasant form of serenity in general and in dealing with other people should arise. The neighbor is enjoying the regained freedom 20 minutes after 10 p.m. loudly with friends in the courtyard – without me pounding 110 on the phone because of disturbance in rest. And is your favorite chocolate out of stock in the supermarket? So what? The one with almonds is also very tasty.

Appreciation has nothing to do with treasure

Speaking of the supermarket: Who would have thought less than two months ago that the sight of a freshly filled toilet paper shelf would bring tears of joy to your eyes? Sometimes it takes a catastrophe to appreciate things that seem natural to you – and this is just to illustrate the "luxury" of not having to wipe your butt with kitchen or newspaper.

The gratitude that we will feel in the face of our friends and family members will be much more important. The sad fact is that not everyone after Corona will be able to visit the grandparents. The uncomfortable questions about being single and the food that is always a bit too fatty should therefore be celebrated with joy by grandma and grandpa. Because it is anything but self-evident.

Meanwhile, one or the other will look back wistfully at the evening on which he or she has canceled the friends for the sake of comfort, so that they prefer to lounge alone on the couch. The willingness to devote his time to loved ones will definitely increase after Corona.

At least as much as sociable times with friends will have to be given to people outside of their own privacy that they should have always been entitled to: supermarket staff, nursing staff, all the hospital staff, our society, and not just during the Corona -Continue crisis – but every normal day of the year, every year.

time for changes

Without mercy, the corona pandemic is putting its finger in the wound of all the failures that have been ignored in Germany and worldwide for years. If modernization of hospital equipment and better pay for nursing staff is not now being promoted, then when? There will never be a perfect world, dreaming of it would be naive. Nonetheless, even the most narrow-minded decision-makers in the world are likely to wonder whether one or two billion will in future be better invested in healthcare than in defense. That would be worth a tweet, Mr. President.

On another point, Germany has to sweep massively on its own doorstep. Because the Federal Republic is often referred to as a digital developing country, and not without reason. The fact that the economy is not suffering any more these days than it already is is thanks to the ability of many professionals to work from their home office. Only that works more badly for some people – for example living in the country. Here, the often propagated, nationwide expansion must finally be pushed ahead at the latest as a result of the Corona crisis.

Regarding home office: There could be more flexible options for some employees in the future. Because many companies that were afraid of allegedly lazy employees in their own four walls before the corona pandemic and consequently pronounced a ban on home offices are now realizing that it works! Even if most people in the immediate time after Corona will be thankful to be able to get back into the office and social contact with their colleagues.

King football also has to save

The last point is not that important compared to the others. As is known, however, 82 million national coaches live in Germany, who will be interested to see the development of the most beautiful thing in the world in the coming months. However, the corona crisis is an immense danger for many teams, and not a few are threatened with bankruptcy should it not be possible to start playing again soon.

A positive aspect will be that the transfer fees, which have literally exploded in the past few years, should be a thing of the past for the time being. Exorbitant amounts beyond the 100 million euros can and will no longer put a club on the table, which in the best case gives football back the lost traction. And that’s the best way to kick it.
