Counter-Strike 2: Hitbox bug fixed and changes to matchmaking – Valve has adjusted this

Two new updates have been released for Counter-Strike 2, which, among other things, have fixed the hitbox bug. We’ll tell you what Valve has also changed about matchmaking.

Since Counter-Strike 2 was released for PC on September 27th, many players have been exploring the new features. These include, among other things, the map-specific ranks in competitive mode as well as the new options for carrying out jump throws.

However, a large part of the community is probably testing the new Premier Mode, which acts as the primary competitive mode in Counter-Strike 2. However, some fans have reported a problem that resulted in them having to compete against opponents with a significantly higher rating.

Incidentally, Elo is a rating system that allows the relative ability of a player to be determined using a value. In Counter-Strike 2, the new CS rating represents your Elo in Premier mode.

Matchmaking changes

In the October 11th update, Valve primarily changed general matchmaking. Games now have smaller ranking differences between teams, but this may result in longer wait times.

The development studio has also made special adjustments to Premier mode. Relegation and promotion games now only take place at the color boundaries, i.e. every 5000 CS rating points and you have an increased chance of a larger win and loss of CS rating points.

These changes are specifically intended to allow players to rank up and down more quickly after receiving their CS rating.

Hitbox bug

Over the past few days, countless fans have reported a hitbox bug where the actual hitboxes were offset from those shown. With the October 10th update, Valve is said to have fixed this error, which means that the displayed hitboxes match the actual ones again.

One problem that Valve apparently hasn’t fixed yet is the extreme input lags in various settings in the game. In addition, the development studio is presumably still using old mechanics, which is why the servers are still running at 64 ticks.
