The Carinthians have been waiting for the introduction of the PCR gargle tests since September. As we have reported, there have been talks with the grocery retailer Spar and local pharmacies – on Tuesday from 10 a.m. there will be a press conference for the state of Carinthia. Health advisor Beate Prettner presents the new Corona gurgle tests in Carinthia together with Spar Carinthia managing director Paul Bacher and the Carinthian Chamber of Pharmacists President Paul Hauser.
Now it’s fixed: from November 6th, Carinthia will also be gurgling. Cooperation partners of “Kärnten gurgelt” are on the one hand the grocer Spar and on the other hand the local pharmacies. The new gurgle tests are free of charge and can be obtained and returned at 206 delivery points in Carinthia. The validity of the PCR tests is 72 hours.
New corona infections:
203 new infections have been reported in Carinthia since yesterday. Of these, three infected people have to be treated in the intensive care unit and two as inpatients. The situation in the hospitals is coming to a head – operations have already to be postponed. Prettner: “We assume that the next level (300 occupied intensive care beds) will be reached and that this will also lead to nationwide tightening!”
101 Spar locations
There will be 101 Spar locations across Carinthia, where you can both receive and give the gurgle tests.
How does it work?
First of all, a one-time online registration (possible from November 6th) is necessary. With the help of an app, you can then download a confirmation to get test kits from a pharmacy. You are entitled to 3 gargle tests per week. After the gargle test has been carried out, the package can be taken to one of the 206 delivery locations. The handover should take place between Monday and Friday by 3 p.m. You are entitled to 3 gargle tests per week. The result will be sent by SMS.
103 pharmacies
The test kits can be picked up with confirmation of the app from 103 pharmacy locations across the board. It is also possible to return your tests there. The tests are evaluated in a laboratory in Graz.
